What is the difference between slim fit and modern fit?Updated 4 months ago

In slightly different sizes, our slim and modern jackets can fit very similarly. Our slim jacket is more tapered in the body of the jacket as it was designed for those with broader shoulders and a more narrow waist. The modern fit jacket is great for people who have a straighter build from their shoulders through their torso and hips. The modern is still a cut with a slimming look, but people who may carry a little weight in their midsection will find the modern fit to be a bit more comfortable.

Ex: A Slim 42 Regular Jacket will be almost identical in fit to a Modern 40 Regular Jacket.

When it comes to pants, our modern fit is great for people who have more muscular legs (i.e. larger thighs and a butt). It gives them a little extra room in the seat and thighs so they can let loose on the dance floor ;) Those who have a leaner lower half tend to prefer our slim pant because it is a straight fit from their waist and hips and becomes more tapered in the thighs and down the leg of the pant. Please note: our men's slim pants are only made in odd numbered sizes and our men's modern fit pants are only made in even numbered sizes.

Ex: A Slim 37 Regular Pant will be almost identical in fit to a Modern 36 Regular Pant.

All of our items are identical and sold separately so slim and modern styles can also be mixed and matched depending on what fits your body type the best. We also recommend not telling your group which style to order and instead let them choose what looks the best on their body.

You can see a side-by-side comparison of our fit types on our fit guide, just scroll below the top banner and you will see "Fit Types," second from the left. Scroll below "Our Fit Types" and you will see the men's slim and modern cut next to each other.
